From Submission to Emancipation: A Study of Few Muslim Women Professors in Colonial Bengal(1920-1947)

Till the first two decades of the 20th century, Muslim women of greater Bengal suffered a lot because of various customs and misinterpreted injunctions. They were even almost denied of education. But this gloomy and dejected situation got changed very slowly from the second decade of the last century as we witnessed few Muslim women professors who pursued their career for the quest of higher education instead of the then social practice of getting married at an early age.
